“The global phenomenon returns with the third book in the One of Us Is Lying series, from #1 New York Times bestselling author Karen M. McManus. When someone from the Bayview Four’s past resurfaces, history begins to repeat itself—and the consequences are deadly.” I voice Addy for anyone new to the series. Super fun!

“Shannon McManus's cocksure, feisty delivery will keep listeners engrossed as Dani, a magically gifted art thief, prepares to steal works from a coveted art collection. Devising unique voices, McManus portrays the confident crew of magical criminals…All in all, McManus's well-rounded performance will have listeners laughing one moment and tense with anticipation the next.” - Audiofile Magazine

Wings of Fire, Tui T. Sutherland, middle grade fantasy, audiobooks

“McManus's youthful narration perfectly suits the Queen's emotional journey to prove herself capable despite her young age. But as the Lost Continent Prophecy becomes clearer, she must risk everything to protect, not only her own tribe, but also all of Pyrrhia.” - Audiofile Magazine

McManus portrays each character dramatically, creating distinct personalities that modulate seamlessly between indignation, arrogance, and childlike wonder.

Dudes, that chick knows how to give good narration. Like, she takes a book that I would have enjoyed reading on my own, and turns it into a favourite.

ALL ABOUT IT

I'm all about telling stories. I love it. I began my acting career at Hickory Community Theatre while still in high school. (Sliding down a fireman's pole will always be my preferred way to the dressing room.) I earned a degree in Communications and the Performance of Literature at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My next adventure took me around the world as a flight attendant for World Airways. The years I spent traveling broadened my perspective, brought me lifelong friends and some crazy stories. My passion for acting grounded me in Washington D.C. where I attended the esteemed conservatory program at The Studio Theatre. That's where it all came together for me.

My craft is founded in theatre, in realism, in the words.

Eventually, my journey brought me to LA where I continued my professional training at Stan Kirsch Studios, UCB, and with Jack Stehlin and Alfred Molina at New American Theatre. Then came audiobooks, the perfect fit for a stage loving lit geek like me.

Now I'm back in the gorgeous Southern Appalachians recording audiobooks from my home studio. Clients include Penguin Random House, Harper Audio, Scholastic Audio, Brilliance, Simon and Schuster Audio, Recorded Books/Tantor, Podium and Audible. So far I've recorded over 300 audiobooks in genres ranging from literary fiction to memoir, mystery, middle grade fantasy, young adult and romance.

When I'm not recording, I'm baking, hiking or chasing after the most adorable little girl in the whole universe.

THANKS Y'ALL!
